These activities will help you to understand the language in the British Council film about domestic workers in the UK: ‘Around the house’ 


In these activities you will practise some useful language for negotiating with your employer.


Task 1

You are going to see 5 roleplays.

In each one, a domestic worker is speaking with her employer.

What happens in the films? Put the summaries in order.



Task 2
In the roleplays, the speakers negotiate. Here are some of the things they said. What do the sentences mean?
